New interactive whiteboards going into schools across Newfoundland Government awards contract for TeamBoard T3-VRT technology
Woodbridge, ON, November 3, 2011 – TeamBoard, a global leader in interactive whiteboards and related innovative hardware and software products, today announced that the Department of Education of Newfoundland and Labrador has chosen TeamBoard technology for more than 1900 interactive whiteboard-based solutions through an award to Pinnacle Office Solutions Ltd. of Newfoundland, a TeamBoard partner. The TeamBoard T3 VRT™ model was chosen from a competitive field. This 88” diagonal direct touch board features dual zone interactivity and Multiforce™ technology with intuitive usability, robust construction, reliable finger touch interactivity, guaranteed-to-clean surface, and an integrated Action Bar that needs no special pens or parts.
“The Provincial Government is committed to placing interactive whiteboard technology in all schools throughout this province,” said the Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Education. “Providing these new resources will build on previous investments in new technologies, and ensure that students develop the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century.”
TeamBoard’s T3 VRT will be installed in provincial classrooms and will enable two people to write on the board at the same time, allowing for enhanced teacher to student or student to student interaction. The boards also double as regular dry erase whiteboards, and come with speakers and software designed to support teaching and learning.
TeamBoard’s next generation interactive whiteboards leverage emerging technologies to offer the world’s first variable resistive touch boards (VRT) for training, education and business. TeamBoard 3 VRT can recognize the degree of pressure you apply with your finger. VRT technology is built into the board so you don’t need special software to experience the enhanced functionality right away –command of software has never been more natural.
MultiForce means users can now navigate, hover, activate menus, activate tool tips, rollover, and command.
When a TeamBoard is not being used in its interactive mode, it can still be used in three other modes: as a projection screen, as a whiteboard, or as an electronic whiteboard. Impressively, the surface is guaranteed to clean for 10 years and even permanent marker if used by mistake is easy to erase.
Sean Brown, TeamBoard General Manager is delighted that “Pinnacle was a model partner for TeamBoard and the students of Newfoundland and Labrador throughout this process, working tirelessly to ensure that the right technology was matched to their needs.”
“Our aim is to offer a range of interactive solutions to improve interaction and engagement among teachers and students, leading to more opportunities for collaboration and greater productivity,” noted Christopher Ide, TeamBoard Territory Sales Manager.
TeamBoard is a Canadian success story since 1994, with a global network of accredited dealers. TeamBoard’s achievements come from a strong commitment towards end users and the T3 VRT is the testament to that continuing success.

Whiteboard Technology Helping Prepare Students for the Future
As part of the Provincial Government’s ongoing commitment to upgrade teaching and learning technology throughout the K-12 education system, 1,934 additional interactive whiteboards will be installed in classrooms across Newfoundland and Labrador, beginning this fall. With this purchase, more than 4,000 interactive whiteboards will be available in the province’s classrooms.
Pinnacle Office Solutions Ltd. of Mount Pearl has been awarded the $4.9 million tender to supply the whiteboards and accompanying software.
The new multi-touch, multi-user interactive whiteboards being installed in provincial classrooms enable two people to write on the board at the same time, allowing for enhanced teacher to student or student to student interaction. The boards also double as regular dry erase whiteboards, and come with speakers and software designed to support teaching and learning.
Budget 2011 Standing Strong: For Prosperity. For Our Future. For Newfoundland and Labrador allocated almost $11 million to support the purchase of additional computers and interactive whiteboards for schools throughout the province. Since 2006, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has allocated $16.4 million for computers and interactive whiteboard technology.
